The gem of Achasta's friendly and active community is Achasta Golf Course. Achasta is a Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course playing 6,995-yards to a par of 72. The golf course is ideal for walking. Nestled in the Chestatee River Valley, close to 25% of golfers choose to walk instead of renting a cart. Golfers enjoy a challenging yet playable masterpiece, with lush fairways and bent grass greens that roll gently past beautiful views of the Chestatee River and the surrounding mountains. The river plays a major role on approximately over half of the holes, with a unique, river island fifth-hole. This natural, classic Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course blends harmoniously with its surroundings, located in the foothills of the North Georgia Mountains along the Chestatee River with the river coming into play on over half the holes. In Jack's words, "We have not forced or tried to create features that aren't natural to the site. Therefore, our landforms are very broad, bunkers are deep,
but relatively simple in shape, and the entire site flows very naturally."

Achasta was home of the PGA Tour's 2007-2008 AT&T Classic Qualifier, 2002-2006 Bell South Classic Open Qualifier, 2002 Georgia State Amateur  Qualifier, 2003 US Open Qualifier and the 2004 Georgia State Mid-Am Qualifier.
